APSG Commends President Tinubu on Historic 20-Year Gas Supply Agreement for Ajaokuta Steel .

The APC Progressive Support Group (APSG) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, over the landmark 20-year Gas Supply Agreement between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited, describing it as a defining milestone in Nigeria's industrial revival.

In a press statement issued by the Director General of the APC Progressive Support Group (APSG), Iya'afin Oluwafunmilayo Adejoke Ogunba-Koleowo, on behalf of the National Executive, State Chapters, and members of the organization across Nigeria and the Diaspora, the group congratulated President Tinubu for what it described as a bold and visionary step towards repositioning Nigeria's economy through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the statement, the agreement represents a major breakthrough in the decades-long effort to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Company, a project conceived over 46 years ago as the backbone of Nigeria's industrial development.

The APSG noted that the availability of a guaranteed long-term gas supply removes one of the most significant obstacles that has hindered the steel plant from reaching full operational capacity, thereby opening the door to industrial growth and economic transformation.

The group further stated that the development is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported steel, strengthen local manufacturing, boost infrastructure development, and improve investor confidence in the nation's economy.

Iya'afin Ogunba-Koleowo emphasized that sustainable national development requires courageous leadership and strategic economic policies, adding that President Tinubu's administration has continued to demonstrate its commitment to industrialisation, economic diversification, and long-term prosperity for Nigerians.

She urged citizens to remain supportive of the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence that the administration's reforms will continue to deliver meaningful economic opportunities, strengthen critical sectors, and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.

The APC Progressive Support Group reaffirmed its unwavering support for President Tinubu's administration and pledged to continue mobilising Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora in support of policies that promote national unity, economic growth, and sustainable development.
