Maduro to Be Held at Brooklyn Detention Center

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, now in New York, is set to be transported by helicopter to Manhattan’s Westside Heliport before being driven to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration headquarters for booking, according to U.S. media reports.

Following the booking, Maduro will be moved to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, where he is expected to await his appearance in Manhattan federal court next week on drug and weapons charges.

MDC is known for housing high-profile inmates, including rapper R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell, and, most recently, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
