Grassroots mobilisation takes centre stage as pro-Tinubu support groups gather ahead of 2027
The movement for stronger grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 general elections received another boost as pro-Tinubu support groups converged for a mobilisation programme organised under the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT).
The gathering brought together political support groups, community mobilisers, women leaders, youths and other stakeholders who share a common interest in strengthening grassroots participation and political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Among those who featured prominently at the event was Iya’afin Oluwafunmilayo Adejoke Ogunba-Koleowo, Director-General/National Coordinator of the APC Progressive Support Group (APSG) and Confident Women Development Initiative (CWDI).

Speaking during an interview at the event, the APSG/CWDI DG highlighted the importance of grassroots engagement, organisation and unity as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
Her presence at the gathering further underlined the growing role of women and grassroots-oriented organisations in political mobilisation and community engagement.
The event also provided an opportunity for various support groups to interact, share ideas and reinforce their commitment to building a coordinated grassroots structure.
The message coming from the gathering was centred on unity, organisation, grassroots participation and sustained engagement as stakeholders look towards the 2027 elections.
With political activities expected to increase in the coming months, grassroots mobilisation will remain an important part of the conversation as political groups and support organisations seek to connect more directly with communities across the country.
For APSG and CWDI, the continued emphasis remains on organised participation, responsible engagement and empowering citizens to play an active role in the democratic process.
